Have You Pinned on Pinterest?

Happy Thursday everyone! This week we come to you with a question .. Have you pinned on Pinterest?

There has been much buzz circulating on this newbie social media site. If you haven’t heard, Pinterest is a pinboard-styled photo sharing website. The site allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections. As their mission, Pinterest wishes to connect its users throughout the world by ‘things’ they find interesting.

It’s been recorded that the site has about 11 million users per week pinning photos. If you go to their website,, you can browse their main page which is filled with current pins. You’ll even notice you can like, comment, repin photos, follow friends and have friends follow you. Sound a little familiar? 😉

If you’re interested in getting on the pinning bandwagon, you can request an invite from their main page. You’ll be put on their wait list since the site is still in open beta, but don’t fret! If you have friends on Pinterest have them send you an invite and you’re good to go!! There is also a way to sign in through your Facebook and Twitter accounts via their app, which is also found on their website. Pinterest will also give you the option of linking your Twitter and Facebook accounts so you may share your pins simultaneously.

Once you’re signed in, you can make your own personalized pinboards and you’re ready to start pinning photos. There will also be an option to add the “Pin It” button to your browser toolbar, so you can pin a photo from any website. Overall, we believe Pinterest is a fun, creative and exciting site that will continue to thrive in the social media community.

Even businesses are utilizing the site. According to SocialMediaToday, even brands are pinning! Check out the link below to see who they are!

What do you think of Pinterest? Do you like it, love it, hate it? Is it a rip off of Facebook and Twitter’s concepts? Tell us what you think. Until next week everyone … Happy pinning!!
